Serole is in the highest part of the Asti Langa, on a plateau that is more than 800 metres above sea level. The landscape is expansive and airy, with meadows, pastures, woodland, and hazelnut groves alternating along the seemingly endless ridges.
This is a more mountainous area than the vine-clad parts of the Langa, where the horizons matter as much as the details. The village is arranged linearly, with the stone and plastered houses overlooking the open spaces.
There is no concentration of monuments, just an order that reflects the agricultural past and present of this area. The simple yet well-proportioned façade leads to a spacious and bright interior, where the decorations and altars reflect a history of deep-rooted devotion.
It is not a place that is flashy or theatrical, instead it creates presence through harmony and continuity. Around the town, trails and secondary roads criss-cross the meadows and ridges, offering suitable routes for leisurely walking.
