The Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary of the Assumption stands on a wooded ridge between Gottasecca and Camerana, near Bric della Croce. Its location recalls ancient routes connecting the Bormida Valley, the Uzzone Valley, and Liguria.
The site preserves the memory of a medieval parish church and a deeply rooted Marian devotion. The scenic road leading to it is part of the experience, gradually isolating the sanctuary from the towns.

Observe the structure of the church, which combines ancient elements with later transformations. The tall bell tower , divided into rows of arches, topped with an onion-shaped spire covered in slate slabs.
A restored sundial is visible on one side of the building. This detail reminds us that rural sanctuaries were not only religious landmarks, but also for orientation and the marking of time.
