Welcome to the municipality of Cessole.

The valley road doesn't do justice to Cessole's rustic beauty. You must climb the old, winding, narrow street that runs alongside the homes of the ancient lords until you emerge in the small square of the imposing two-story church, where the loggia of the valley's first market opens and where, on Christmas Eve, the complex representation of the Living Nativity Scene concludes.
From here the view sweeps over the hill in front, green with woods, hazelnut groves and vineyards, where the unmistakable church of the
Madonna della Neve - or d'la Cuca - a traditional devotional and gastronomic event (the famous ravioli del plin served in a napkin) throughout the valley.

The town is dominated by the imposing mass of the parish church, a bold 18th-century construction designed by Giacomo Carretto, an architect and student of Juvarra, who brilliantly solved the problem of the hill's unevenness by constructing two buildings, one atop the other. The upper building is the parish church, dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, rich in sumptuous Baroque decorations, while the lower one is the oratory of the Confraternity of the Battuti.
It is accessed through a scenic side door or directly from inside, via a stone spiral staircase.
